These two Channel Island National Park distance and directional wayfinding signs are each made of two 0.075 thick Corten weathering steel plates welded together front-to-back. The front plate  has its text cut out with a CNC laser,. The solid back plate  is welded to the front plate.  These signs are   mounted on a Corten steel post. This photo shows the color of the weathering steel signs and post at the time of fabrication.  After  the  signs and posts are exposed outside to the weather for a few months, their color  will turn dark orange-red because of oxidation and  rusting.
