Photos of examples of our flat (2-D) aluminum signs are shown in this section of Gallery 8. These signs are less expensive than our carved wood and HDU signs, and are suitable for many commercial and government outdoor utilitarian applications such as traffic, park, information, and safety signs. They look good and last a long time with very little maintenance.

We cut out  these signs  from 5052 aluminum plate with thickness that range from 0.08 inch to  0.5 inch thick. Typically,  smaller (10 to 24 inches wide) signs are 0.08 inch thick, whereas larger signs (4 to 15 ft wide ) are 0.25 to 0.5  inches thick, depending on how they are mounted, their expected wind loads, and how much other aluminum structural reinforcement is used. These aluminum blanks can be cut in any shape with a CNC water jet or laser cutter. The aluminum blanks, after cleaning and prime paint or powder coating, can be painted, printed on a flat-bed printer, is then protected with two clearcoats (painted signs) , or alternatively, for printed or vinyl decal signs,  covered with a UV and graffiti  resistant laminate.  These signs can be mounted on the side of a fence, a gate, or building wall, or mounted on a single post or between two posts, or hung from an overhead wood beam or wrought iron scroll bracket.
